Hi all, i used to visit the site a lot up untill a few months ago, I am now living in Dubai and since living here have been buying my time in choosing the right car, in my travels i have found a load of right hand drive cars which are no available in Dubai for Export only, due to a change of law, prices below rough guide

EVO 7 30,000 km aroun 8.000 gbp

Scoob STI 1 year old 30,000 km around
same price

and there is a **** load of them, also went to one car yard!!!! in the middle of the dessert (like something from starwars and they must have had around 10 skyline gtr's in a row going well cheap.

does anyone know what kind of charges would be involved in getting one of these ready for UK market, i reckon theres a lot of cash to be made somewhere!!!

Buying one for use in Dubai would probably be ok but i would have serious reservations about bringing one back to the UK. Make sure you know all the history of the car and are absolutely convinced you know it was never stolen.

Even if you managed to find a good source for cars over there they would always be 'tainted' by the fact they are coming out of Dubai and I reckon that would put a lot of buyers off.

Yep,
The dodgy ones go to saudi or they go there to be clocked .
I also saw that prog on tv where they were converting cars over to lhd by bodgering them ,cutting the looms and just taping the wires together.this was being done by 7 year old kids:eek:!!:D

Very true lads, why would you bother sending cars to another country and then on from there??? Many of these cars will be robbed from Japan, clocked and have ID's tampered with and then sent on to countrys such as the UK. If you happen to then purchase one and get traced you will lose your car & cash!!!
Stick to a reputable importer (such as myself) and you at least have the chance of being reimbursed through the claims court, bring it in yourself and hope for the best.........as the saying goes "if it's too good to be true then it probably is"!!!!!!! ;)
