I had a very lazy Evo ,seemed to take ages to build up boost.Im not saying yours is this but it might be worth checking you can pop the turbo elbow off and check the condition of the wastegate for any faults. As you can see from mine I had a big crack on the wastegate face..So when the flap was covering the holes (shut) gases were still escaping meaning it took longer to build boost.. I changed this and it feels like I have a new car.. So much better to drive...

yea thats peak gray.

just feels a bit laggy

shall have to investigate

are single flappers better thsn twin

3500 rpm is about correct for a 10.5T turbo on the V, may be able to get it to spool better with a different actuator or boost control.
Single flapper is supposed to control boost better, but it not likely to be noticeable.
