What exactly are they, and if they're tickey is it a problem??

If so, what will happen, and how much to get sorted?

thanks
Hi mate, basically they are the tappets in the top of your engine. Evo"s are known to have noisy lash's. I just changed mine as the knock sensor was hearing the noise which caused it to retard the timing, (wasn't good). I paid £99 from www.camskill.co.uk for the adjusters, then two hours work at my local tuner (£100). If they are really noisy, its probably best to change them.
Hope this helps. :)

When they tap it's nomally because they get gummed up with debrits from old oil, doesn't harm the engine, more of an annoyance than anything.

As for fixing sometimes a couple of oil changes can cure them, if not they can be removed and cleaned http://www.lancerregister.com//showthread.php?s=&threadid=18708

failing that you can buy new ones with a slightly larger filling hole from various companies on this forum as stated above
