I have standard wheels on my 1992 lancer gsr and would like to put either 16 inch or ,if possible 17 inch alloys on it. However I would like to use alloys from an evo4 onwards, rather than simply a set of after market alloys. Firstly does any one know if they would fit, and secondly how do I know what my offset is? HELP!!!!!!

Evo 4 or later alloys will not fit for the simple reason they are 5-stud to the GSR's 4-stud.

Offset is 38mm, PCD is 4x114.3mm

205/45R16 or 205/40R17 are the 2 sizes that most closely match the GSR's standard wheel/tyre size. 16s give a good balance between ride comfort and looks, 17s can verge on the extreme side of comfortable if you have significantly tighter suspension.

on my gsr i have 195/50/16 tyres i changed to these tyres to give better traction on shingle roads
When i brought the car it had 205/50/16. I had to change as after lowering it these tyres rubbed on the inside of the gaurds
Also could u please tell me what boost pressure and ignition timming u are running
