When you get a car that has been imported from japan. The milage is in klm. At the sva test they convert it to mph do they adjust the milage to mph or not. If they only do the speedo does the odo still read klms ???

It is not converted at the SVA test, it is done by the SVA prep company or an individual, and depending on who does the work depends on wheather the odometer gets converted or not.

The convertor will only cause subsequent distance to be added as miles and they do not reduce the total shown on the odometer. Most imports will often be sold on with "75k on the clock, first 44k is in kilometers" or something similar on the ad.

And just to confuse matter further, some places just stick a new face over the old, recalibrated in MPH and only going up to 120, and this will continue to clock up Kilometres.
