Had two days there. See http://www.jerryflint.net/Kemble.htm

The first was organised by a friend and it was brill - used the runway - perimeter tracks etc. Fast and Furious.

The second was orgainsed by Easytrack and they used much less of the airfield. Personally I didn't enjoy it as much as the first.

However, the plus side for both events was thet there is plenty of run off which gives coinfidence to novices like me. The downside is the abrasive nature of the surface which destroys tyres and the very fine chippings can chip the paintwork of your machine if you follow too closely behind others!

Who is the organiser?

Hi Jerry
Thanks for the advice, it's organised by Easytrack!!!! Another one I've seen advertised by Motorsport Events is Hullavington in Wiltshire!
I desparately want to do one as I often back off a little more than I should due to not knowing the cars abilities, or mine come to think of it. I've now got a set of slicks thanks to some kind person having a set of Makkinen wheels for sale a couple of months ago!!! Cheers for that they do look excellent on my white VI.

Shorty the following dates I can see are as follows:

HULLAVINGTON - Feb 8th, April 19th (both Fridays) with Motorsport Events
http://www.motorsport-events.co.uk/track_day_2002_calendar.htm

KEMBLE - 18th and amp; 19th Jan (Friday and amp; Saturday)
22nd and amp; 23rd Feb (Friday and amp; Saturday)
16th and amp; 18th March (Saturday and amp; Monday)
19th and amp; 20th April (Friday and amp; Saturday)
with Easytrack - http://www.easytrack.co.uk
Though I couldn't see them on their site!

I often look at Piston Heads site which covers a lot of track day companies and this is where I saw them listed.
http://www.pistonheads.com/trackdays/calendar.asp

It would be great if we could arrange a group meet. As I live in the Isle of Wight I don't want to travel too far either so these two would be ideal for me! If anyone else is interested in doing one on these dates, let me know!

Regards
Steve

I've been to both Kemble and Bruntingthorpe and enjoyed both immensely.

Kemble is short|PLS|twisty and favours Caterhams/Elises etc. but is still fun in a 1000kg|PLS| car (IMHO). Well
organises by Easytrack and plenty of track time.

Bruntingthorpe is very fast (I managed over 140mph on the straight) and if you're lucky you'll get a bash
on the 2 mile runway for a top speed run.

Both surfaces are fairly harsh on the tyres. I didn't notice too many problems with loose stone chips etc. ...
obviously both had been swept beforehand although this might not always be the case.

Ian.
