OULTON PARK - TUESDAY 23rd OCTOBER 2001

I thought that this track day deserves a bloody good mention.

I know it has been talked about a little in another thread, but I thought it was so good that it deserved another thread!!

The day was professionally setup, with all cars booked through Warrender having their own sessions, one every hour, which meant that we all got excellent use of the track, I think I worked it out that i was using between half and three quarters of a tank of petrol for each 20 minute session.

I think the track is a very nice easy track, especially suitable for EVO's.

I was good to see Clive and amp; Max and all the other RC Developments guys, and despite what could have happened I was not taken aside and burried in the grass!

Warrender of course had their new 380 EVO 7 there, although I think they still need a proper driver for the car....will I do the upgrade??? Probably unlikely now (at least for the next couple of months) as I still too impressed with my current setup.

First session was a little scary, as the track was still wet, but it dried out beautifully in the end - until the last session with open pits and anyone on the track - when it was saturated - that was good fun - I have decided that I like going past tuned up Porsches with roll cages, intercoms, lowered to the ground and slicks - maybe they will do better next time.

Have heard that Warrender may try and fit one more in this year....could be Donnington - anyone had any experience of this track??

Well thats some of my thoughts....and thaks once again to Simon and Ian at Warrender and all at RC Developments, and of course all the specialist track tuition instructors - very hlpfull, and surprisingly friendly!!

why would they be unfriendly to you?..after all you are obviously a future customer for the 380 conversion.

Glad you had a good time.

Is there anywhere on the board I can go without you!!

Seriously though...I still don't know - I know I don't need it, but I know I want it...what a dilemma, I might not necessarily go to RC though, I spoke to someone who works for Kia in croydon, they reckon they could get the power up to 380 a lot cheaper, might give them a go!

That's actually quite funny.

But on a serious note, this was a good day - if Warrender do it again this year (I now they plan plenty for next year) are there any takers??

I'm not being funny Simon, but for the life of me I can't remember seeing it, unless it was the one with the RC painted on the Rad/oil cooler - but I thought that was black - god I've got a bad memory, maybe someone else there remembers it!

It was a white GTiR with 17 white Racelines, recaro seats, front mounted intercooler (painted black with RC in white sprayed on it)

The car is a bit of a beast, it chuck out about 320bhp at 1 bar boost on the standard T28 turbo. Its now been setup for 1.2 bar by Clive at RC, should be good for 330 - 340bhp. Not bad for a 1220kg car (130kg lighter than an E6 GSR)

Simon, ah yes I remember, sorry was only really taking notice of the evo's and RS Cosworth, but did not have a chance to chat to the driver mainly because there were so many track sessions for us on the day, will next time though, sounds a bit special, i did say to the other half that if i started rallying again (she still wont let me) - then a gti-r is the sort of car i would get, they are rather nice!!

Not to far away for me as I live near my first track day ,and I totally enjoyed it. I have just dropped of my Evo V at RC with Clive and amp; Crew it is having stage 2 so it should be good for 350|PLS| Bhp and some new brakes pads after the other day. I have to admit I am impressed with my new Bridgestone S03 tires as they were only a week old when I went around Oulton Park.

Well Im going to miss my baby whilist im away on business in Brighton and amp; London. But it should be even more fun when I get back!!

Rc said they are going down to Donnington if I have no business commitments I just might be there.

Bye for now

Maybe I should move...

Sounds as though you car will be quite impressive when its finished, no doubt I will see you at a track day, not too long in the distant future.

By the way, RC at Donington - is that the 6th, or the one that may happen on 23rd ish
