·OULTON PARK - TUESDAY 23rd OCTOBER 2001
I thought that this track day deserves a bloody good mention.
I know it has been talked about a little in another thread, but I thought it was so good that it deserved another thread!!
The day was professionally setup, with all cars booked through Warrender having their own sessions, one every hour, which meant that we all got excellent use of the track, I think I worked it out that i was using between half and three quarters of a tank of petrol for each 20 minute session.
I think the track is a very nice easy track, especially suitable for EVO's.
I was good to see Clive and amp; Max and all the other RC Developments guys, and despite what could have happened I was not taken aside and burried in the grass!
Warrender of course had their new 380 EVO 7 there, although I think they still need a proper driver for the car....will I do the upgrade??? Probably unlikely now (at least for the next couple of months) as I still too impressed with my current setup.
First session was a little scary, as the track was still wet, but it dried out beautifully in the end - until the last session with open pits and anyone on the track - when it was saturated - that was good fun - I have decided that I like going past tuned up Porsches with roll cages, intercoms, lowered to the ground and slicks - maybe they will do better next time.
Have heard that Warrender may try and fit one more in this year....could be Donnington - anyone had any experience of this track??
Well thats some of my thoughts....and thaks once again to Simon and Ian at Warrender and all at RC Developments, and of course all the specialist track tuition instructors - very hlpfull, and surprisingly friendly!!
