Guys on the same subject I saw an add in a car mag for Samco Heater(5, £61) and induction hoses(4, £220), I thought that they only did the Coolant and Turbo hoses. I think I will have to check them out. The company advertising these is called Amber Performance, www.amber-performance.co.uk. Have any of you fitted these hoses before, if so are there any difficulties.
I also read your thread you suggested to shorty, and it was most informative!!! http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/happy1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle > Your explanation on aluminum's ability to shed heatsoak sooner than silicone or other materials confirmed my belief. Many thanks! [img]http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/happy1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle >
I am also planning to upgrade my turbo hoses with aluminum ones soon, either HKS or Blitz. In the Philippines, there has been quite a significant amount of gains with the installation of aluminum turbo hoses in E4's and E5's. Perhaps this is because we have a much HOTTER climate, and it is very humid too.
Doing some basic research and math, we noticed that there is as much as a 5 psi pressure drop from the turbo to the intake manifold on our Evo's here in the Philippines. Maybe in warmer climates then the effects of heatsoak are much worse.
At any rate, thanks again! [img]http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/happy1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle >
BTW, paying 300 US Dollars for Ralli-Art hoses made by Samco are kinda daft, especially when Samco sells a set specifically for the Evo 4-6 fr only 200 dollars. Don't anyone tell me Ralli-Art charges 100 Dollars for the use of their name?!?!?!?! [img]http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/happy1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle >
When you say turbo hoses do you mean the intercooler piping or also the hoses on the turbo itself? I have got HKS intercooler piping (not fitted yet) but haven't seen aluminium turbo hoses. I was looking to get a Samco set (aesthetics more than anything) but now i'm not so sure.
