The other day my gf mis-judged a junction and clipped the bumper of a parked Merc on the opposite side of the road (in fairness to her it is a swine of a road).
In these situations I always like to settle it without getting insurance companies involved, but there's no way I can afford the £500-odd cash for this one so she's going to have to claim on her insurance.

My question is, what details does my gf need to give to the owner of the Merc, and does she need any insurance details from him? Thankfully this is the first time I've ever been involved in a claim against me/somebody I know so I've no idea what needs to be done.

Yes Mate swap all insurance info -

Insurance company name and policy number if there is any damage to her car (over the excess) then you may as well get it done as a claims a claim.
