Hello Evo people
Is there a definate way of making sure that you have a titanium turbocharger on your evo 7? Are there any numbers or markings on the car or turbo itself saying that it is the titanium unit? Regards. SIMON.

Simon,
If you can look at the markings on your turbo and see td05HRA then you have a titanium one, if you see td05HR then you have a standard one.

Andy,
Thanks for the reply. Do you know exactly where these markings are on the turbo? I would presume that they would be on the side of the unit somewhere? Maybe on the compressor side. Regards SIMON

They should be inscribed into the compressor wheel and look like this (where the TD04 bit will be the TD05)

As everyone else has said but for reference:

See below for the location of the designation markings as seen in the engine bay of an E6 GSR (the markings are directly behind the compressor intake, just look along the turbo intake pipework, it will be in the same location on an E7):

The designation on the compressor housing for an E6 GSR inconnel turbocharger. The centre line is the one you need to look at. 'TD05HR' denotes an inconnel compressor, 'TD05HRA' denotes a titanium compressor. '10.5T' denotes the nozzle area in cm2, an Evo VII will be '9.8T':

Gonks,
The Titty turbo could be retro fitted, as on my E6, so the only way to know for sure is to look at the Turbo itself.
