Im running 1.4 bar of boost on my E5

Its got all the norm stuff on it, air filter kit, 3inch system n decat. Im ordering some conrod bolts this week n its getting a remap soon after but just how much boost can it deal with before Mr Conrod says hello to Mr Intercooler ? :confused:

Ive heard such different opinions...........

I do want as much out of it as i can but on the same note its driven hard when its used n i dont want any monster blow ups :angst:

Conrods and pistons are on santas list :angel:

i think it will be more a matter of how much more puff can the std turbo can give.

i believe the std one runs out of puff at 1.6bar. so unless your car is aggressively mapped you wont need to do your bolts.

Nope the rod just bent, no other side effects. The previous owner(s) were running it with a really bad tune so there may have been some detonation weakening things before I got it. Had it dyno tuned with 300hp at the wheels and all was good, no knocking etc....until it started knocking real bad (rod on block!)
