I had falken 451s on my lancer in 215/45/16.

they were my 1st performance tyre.

they lasted well and gripped great, compared to the marshals that they replcaed.

now i'm in the market for new 18" tyres for my GT4 WRC.

Falkens are again a good price but how do they compare against the toyo T1-rs or goodyear F1s or other likley candidates.
will only be used on roads and b-road fun - keeping the 17s for track

235/40/18 will be the size required - price is a factor but am willing to only get quality.

I've done a couple of hundred miles on my T1-Rs now and have to say that so far I'm impressed. The turn-in and ride are both vastly superior to the A539s I had on before and although I'm not going to explore the limits of grip until they're fully bedded in, from the way they feel now and the reports that others have made on them, I doubt I'll be disappointed. Good price too.

A friend put T1-S on his GT4 (standard wheels, 17") and felt that the sidewalls were too soft. This is one area where the T1-R is meant to be improved but I doubt I'll notice with the extremely thin, heavily reinforced sidewalls on my 205/40R17s.

why don't you try the Bridgestone Potenza S03 Pole Position...or maybe Michelin Pilot Sports 2...these are better tyres
