Hey All

Right, I am getting into a nasty habit of hitting the rev limiter when accelerating. Then this morning did it again but this time lost power and the engine check light illuminated; off to the garage I go.
Ok, the question is, does the X have a programmable present where it will alarm when hitting a rev threshold?
My old scoob did, but I have looked through the mitsi manual and can't find anything.

Any help much appreciated.

I dont think it does no, I would get your rev limiter raised by a mapper  mines sits at 8000rpm now.

repeated bouncing off the rev limiter could damage the timing chain .

get a aftermarket shift light, take it apart and solder in a buzzer instead of the LED and fit it under the dash. will be programmable to sound at any rpm you like

JOB DONE :)

I would say on stock turbo and looking at dyno sheets, revving higher than 6500 is a waste of time.............
I think the SST and GSR are two different stories, if you change gear from 4th to 5th in a manual @ 6500 rpm you will drop right off boost even with stock turbo, plus whats the point of having MIVEC if you are going to change that early

I had my old scoob set to around 6500 rpm as that was the peak of the power curve.
It seemed to make sense to me to set there.

Anyway car all back to normal now after spending a couple of days in the mitsi garage getting checked out, under warranty.

This might make me look a noob, but hey I am not a mechanic.

The one thing they said was that the car was over boosting and therefore they bored one of the pipes from 2.5 to 2.?. They said they effectively bored out some fins to make the pipe less restrictive. What pipe I do not know.

Is this normal?

I've no idea what they are talking about there

would be interesting if you could find out though.
