Marco,

Don't worry. I don't own an Evo (I don't even own a turbo-charged car!) and have survived mostly unscathed on here for nearly 2 years :D

People are very friendly unless you go as far as suggesting that a Top Fuel dragster might possibly be faster than an Evo ;)

Not sure about the top fuel dragster, especially in the twisties, but your M3 with 343bhp (have you checked? ;D ) and no transmission losses will probably lose all the Evos on this board...

Claudius! I thought you'd gone on holiday. I'm consider it a great honour to get my 300th post (I think) by replying to one of yours.

No transmission losses? How did you know I'd fitted the top-secret air differential and gearbox? You must also be in the know.

:D

Welcome Marco,

As an ex 400bhp RWD moonstone saph cossie owner, its great
to have you on board. Just dont go saying the cossie is better than
an evo........cos it 'aint http://www.lancerregister.com/graphics/Wilk.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| middle >

M3 quicker than an Evo ?

Possibly, from 60 onwards in a straight line; but if you can't cream an M3 round
the bends in an evo, id give up and buy a fiesta.

Jokes aside, one of my customers has a brand new M3 and a red TME;
when I asked him which was best; expecting an answer along the lines
of evo, by far .......he said they are both awesome, the evo only just
getting his vote.

BAH !

Welcome to the MLR Marco,

One of my mates just sold his mint black Mk1 cossie, he had an EVO 4 before that though ;)
The cossie was completely unmodified and unspoiled. He new the EVO was much faster but it was always his dream to own an original MK1.

a local guy who is sadly no longer with us had a cossie with mike smith (the dj),s touring car engine in it
was rumoured to be 550hp,and it was 2wd !
i was blindingly fast, but verging on the uncontollable.

as for m3,s,as much as i dislike what they (bmw,s) stand for socially, they are a very capable car.

Don't ask Droid which is best. He has an unfair advantage as he has the fastest standard M3 in the country. Well, as standard as any engine that may have been blueprinted ;)

always space for any petrol head. In its day the cossie was the top motor to have. I almost bought one back in the early 90's when they were impossible to insure as they were dirt cheap to buy. Was going to keep it garaged until the insurance situation sorted itself out. Unfortunately new family arrivals got in the way.

cetianly started the quest for big horse power turbo motors.

Stuart

If I remember right, his dad had an Escort Cossie, the one that went BANG big style after some nut drove it up the m/way and went from 5th to 1st - oooch I think he got it after it had been re-built.
