So, I tried to replace the steering wheel in the Tommi with an OEM part today, but it seems the center 17mm nut has been glued shut.. any advice on how to set it free again?
Thanks in advance

In what way is it glued? You could try an impact gun to free it off maybe? So, I tried to replace the steering wheel in the Tommi with an OEM part today, but it seems the center 17mm nut has been glued shut.. any advice on how to set it free again?

Glue straight on the thread before tightening the nut it seems. In what way is it glued? You could try an impact gun to free it off maybe?
Is it like loctite? If you don't have a impact gun the other way is to use a breaker bar with someone else holding the steering wheelGlue straight on the thread before tightening the nut it seems.
I've tried that but it didn't move a bit.. it's ridiculous
it seems it was applied the same way you would loctite, but it looks like ordinary glue. I tried the impact gun approach without any success.. the breaker bar option was on the table, but more as a last resort. Guess I'll have to give it a try neverthelessIs it like loctite? Bit of faith mate, she will come off 😊it seems it was applied the same way you would loctite, but it looks like ordinary glue. I tried the impact gun approach without any success.. the breaker bar option was on the table, but more as a last resort. Guess I'll have to give it a try nevertheless
if I get desperate enough, I'll just go for it.. for now the Tommi is at the TÜV and hopefully it'll get registered tomorrow. After that I'll get back to work on this :rotz:If your not bothered about damaging the steering wheel that you're removing, heat up the nut with oxy/acetylene bottles or similar, then it will come off easily.
The little bit of thread I can see looks fine, but who knows what's hiding beneath the nut :shake:I wonder if someone has stripped the threads in the past and glued it back on?
Sounds daft but theres alot of daft people about![]()
