Hi guys, i'm looking to change the gearbox oil in my Evo 6 GSR, which is equiped with "AYC". The gear changes can be quite notchy, especially when cold, they get better as it gets warm. I want to put the best possible oil in, can you please recommend me an oil?
Should i flush it through when changing it?
Mitsubishi changed it last year but i dont know what they put in it.

Mine would be Silkolene Syn 5.

rear diff has ayc not the gearbox,castrol driveline synthrax universal 75w90 gl4/5 is what i use. no need to flush

Thanks, i was looking at the Silkolene. Did you notice any difference when you changed to it?

Good piont Todd, i was just reading through the threads about what to use in the diff, was still thinking of that when asking about gearbox oil............Taxi for one please.............

The gear change has always been ok in mine. Only once or twice from cold the initial selection has been difficult. But otherwise fine.

Can't say I can tell the difference. But you know you are getting a good product and a well protected gear box

do a search for royal purple their max gear oil is excellent.
