I suffered the embarrassment of a flat battery today outside the local chippy.

I had to push the car down the main road whilst my wife jumped started the car.

Can anyone tell me what is a decent battery to fit an EVO VI and where to get it.

I have the HKS full racing induction kit with the alloy pipe so am limited on the

amount of space I have to position a larger battery.

Many Thanks

There must be something draining your battery to make it go flat? :(

Surely its not that poor to go dead in the time it takes to get a few chips?

skeletor,
Try the HB054 from Halfords. Its larger than the original jap unit, but fits in the battery tray OK.
The terminal positions and size are identical too !

Just put one on this winter, OK so far.

The battery has always been a bit iffy on turn over . This is due to the car
only travelling 7000 miles in 2 1/2 years. The previous owner did warn me
that the only problem he had with the car was the battery going flat due
to work commitments and the car having to sit in the garage for long periods
of time. I have traveled nearly 1000 miles in about 3 - 4 week but the battery
is just not holding a charge.

Cheers for the replys and I will be popping down to halfords aand following
Mr Mime's advice.

Many Thanks

Skeletor,
...or save £15 and get the exact same battery but by Lucas. I will find the old thread about batteries hang on....

Heres the thread in question but to summarize:

Lucas Supreme Part Number 054/4
(CCA 335)
This is the same physical size as the OE battery however the terminals are the opposite way around so the battery has to be installed with the terminals near to the wheel arch as opposed to the front of the car. The terminals are the correct size and the clamp bracket also fits OK around the slightly raised individual filler caps. Comes with a 4 year warranty.
Price from PDA (Farnham) £31.77 inc of VAT

Halfords Part Number HB054
(CCA 335)
As above. The fillers are flush with the top of the battery. Comes with a 3 year warranty.
Price from Halfords (Farnham) £44.99 inc of VAT

Save some money and find a Lucas dealer and also get a year longer warranty.
By the way these are the same as the OE Cold Climate pack battery (55B24L) which was on mine. A smaller battery was fitted to non Cold Climate pack cars and is labelled 44B20L.

Don`t talk to me about flat battery`s.

The same thing happened to me outside the local chippy. My local dealer had the car for four days and promised me everything was ok. The same night it let me down outside a packed chippy. Ha HA HA from outside.

It ended with the car getting nicked because of the battery.

Back now and I`m not bitter. LOL
