When fitting mine, I dropped the tank enough to get the pump out from under the car. The only thing i left connected to the tank was the filler neck so I needed to support the tank.
When fitting in the new pump just check the wires. I got my walbro from flat4online and the new connector supplied was wired the wrong way. It's probably a good idea to check it pumps before you put it all back together.
