So not a lot been happening on the project really ... not by me anyway ! More engine parts currently being restored ... and a few little internal upgrades . We will get there !!

This just had to go ...

Restored triple gauge set , and oem radio installed ...

Another job put to bed was replacing the seat base foams ... this makes a massive difference to the feel of the seats ... just like new again !

The seats took me the best part of a day , could have done it quicker but trying not to scratch or mark anything slows the job down a lot ! Hard to find decent seats so worth looking after !

One of many restored components sat on the shelf ready !

Rear spoiler blade removed as it had a very slight mark on it that was bugging me ! Just waiting to send it off to another member who is good with paint ... very good in fact !...

That's all for now ... stay safe everyone.

I remember when you started work on this... So many hours & attention to detail :coolsm::mitsi:
Wow... Those seats cushions must be like gold dust:smthumbup

It's great to see these threads still going & what can be achieved.... Keep the updates coming for rest us all to enjoy :smthumbup:D:roll:

Beautiful. and that A/C compressor looks brand new!
I can assure you it's not :naughty:

It was in pretty good condition to start with to be honest.

Some of them have worn bearings that rumble...

:mitsi: nearly £200 with VAT for a complete clutch pulley assembly

£24 for a bearing :naughty: They are staked in the pulley, but soon press out. Small bit of bearing lock on them and they don't go anywhere.

This one was fine though.

Thank you ! The seat cushions are still available from Capital Seating , and not that expensive really. You'd be surprised which recaro seat parts are still available !

I got the door films from my local dealer ... but that was a while ago. But they are also for sale on eBay from wwwisicar . About £10 per door

Had a nice ride out earlier this week ... first stop collect these wheels from some fellow MLR members. I'd been looking for a while for a set of these Enkei WRC Tarmac Evo alloys, so I was really pleased to do a deal on these and meet 2 friendly Evo enthusiasts

Second stop collecting and delivering parts to Dave Cee ... not only is he refurbishing pretty much everything for me , he's also putting right a lot of crap that has been botched by others ... driveshafts (wrong colour) ... rear sub frame and diff hangers (poorly powder coated) and other little bits, more on that another time !

This turbo was a proper nightmare job for him ... snapped bolts and studs , a broken snap ring and a rather stubborn o2 sensor !

Left him with this ...

And this is it after a lot of hard work !

A few other parts recently collected from Dave ...

Bonus was he took me out in his car ... what a weapon that is ... full credit to everyone involved in building such a awesome machine. A seriously sorted E9 !!!

Third stop ... drop some parts off to my friend who is tasked with putting the engine back together... is he an Evo specialist ... No , but he used to build Touring car engines, and he's just employed a recently made redundant Mercedes F1 engineer, who previously worked for Radical building there engines ... so I have every faith that everything will be ok

This was how it looked when I dropped some parts off...

And a few days later ...

And finally a few parts going back on ...

A long way to go ... but things are moving the right way.

Further updates should come soon

Will post up the rear alloy subframe later.

The worst powder coating I have ever seen. Way too thick and under cured.
A big mess.

It was stripped in the acid tank at the powder coaters I use. Tried at first with my dry blaster at 100 Psi and it would not shift it. Just kept moving it around.

Rear cow horn and tash bar were the same. Acid stripped. I have blasted those tonight and given them a coat of POR15. A satin black top coat will follow. A new set of ralliart bushes will be pressed in.
