I am fed up with my Blitz Nur Spec-R. It is just too noisy for some tracks -great for the road. Although it is legal on most tracks with the insert, some sensors just go crazy because of the deep bass sound. At Oulton I registered 110db on the static with the insert out, and 106db with it in! I blagged my way on - the car is quiet enough on the move.

As it is a track day car, I really need a quiet exhaust - I don't like inserts. Have tried an insert in my insert (!) which did drop noise, but on the move it is noiser as the gas tries to escape through a smaller hole.

Really need a quieter exhuast, that is still 3 . Any ideas???

Have had PE and Super Drager in the past. Suepr Drager was quiet, but restrictive. PE no that much quieter, and quite restrictive too....

HELP!!!!

Have you tried Mark Gosling @ Tube Torque in Macc?

He has done a few one-off systems for me in the past including a 3 one for a GT4

I have a similar problem with my modified Hyper muffler, also running 3 downpipe and de-cat. The noise is not excessive but my local track which I attend on a monthly basis is Bedford Autodrome and they have a very strict drive-by noise limit.

What I suggest, and what I am in the process of doing is making another silencer, straight through 3 perforated tube type, in place of the cat, or de-cat pipe. You would be suprised what a difference another silencer makes to noise suppression and without any added restriction, only a small disruption to flow.

I run my Hyper with SS downpipe and WRC racing cat. As long as I don't drive on boost for a certain time it's ok but on track days and especially after two flying laps on the Ring it gets so loud that I almost get a headache even when wearing my helmet! First I thought I'm a bit conservative regarding the noise but even Timspeed mentioned he could hear me coming from far away and that always was on my cool down lap. It's also much louder than the H and amp;S system without cat! I think the noise damping stuff inside the muffler itself has burnt out. Not good considering the price you pay for the HKS parts.

Blade,

what about fitting a bag tank in the boot and then you've got the place where the tank used to be for a really whopping silencer. Bit radical i know.

I'm ok to exchange your very loud 3 system against my quite quiet 2.5 mongoose system :))))

I was waiting for somebody to say H and amp;S. Give them a call. Very good on the power front and they can customise the sound side of things. I love mine, sounds really deep but not too OTT.

Tony,
U need 2 increase the volume (size not sound :)) of the back box , so the Jap systems r not going 2 help as they r designed 2 satisfy noise hungry petrol heads :)
Probably a good plan 2 ask wot the UK specialists can do 4 u with a custom made box that can b attached 2 the Blitz pipework.
