Hello!

OK, I have tried and tried to get the AYC pump to run so that I can bleed it- both on my previous 8 and current 9, without success.

I have the 1.3u cable and Evoscan 2.9. I can connect to the EFI, AYC and ACD ECU's to datalog without an issue. When I hit the 'AIR bleed ACD' button to get the pump to run, it connects and then immediately ends. Doing my head in as it's main reason I bought the cable and software! :blah:

Anyone able to point me in the right direction (other than getting someone else to do it?!) :mhihi:

Cheers :smthumbup

Hi Andy,

Thank you the reply. My lead doesn't appear to have a pin 9, and I can connect and datalog the AYC/ ACD. As far as I can tell I have pins 1, 4, 5, 7, 11, 15 & 16 on my 1.3u cable.

Had the same last month. Evo 8 and Evo 9 in. Could not start the Air Bleed Mode. Give up, the cars have not moved since!

Try the "op check" function in Evoscan, see if you can make it work that way.
I'll give it a go in a bit, out of interest what should happen when I do this?

Also, do I need to unlock my standard ECU before I can upload the ROM using ECUFlash? Had a really quick go the other day and it didn't want to know. I have since downloaded the most current version, but not tried it yet.

Ok, had another go this evening.

I tried the OP Check function and the pump ran for about 5 seconds..... once. After that I couldn't get it to work again. I press the active button, it connects and starts the actuator and immediately ends the actuator (as per the pic in my first post). Rebooted my laptop and gave it another go, still no joy.

2nd issue, I still can't get ECU flash (or the read map function in Evoscan) to read the ECU? I downloaded the unlocker and opened it before ECUflash, same result in that It can't connect- for the sake of it I tried all of the mitis variants in case I have an odd ECU. As far as I know my 1.3u cable is good as it worked fine on my previous E8 and has spent about 12 months sitting in a drawer, until now.....

Had a bit of a google (ok, a lot) and saw something about battery voltage being a possible issue. Going to hook up a charger tomorrow and spend another hour or so trying to get it to work!

If anyone is local-ish willing to lend a hand, i don't mind driving to you and depositing beer tokens.
It would be seriously appreciated as I want to get this working- out of principle if nothing else!

PROGRESS!

Looks like it was a battery voltage issue. I hooked up a charger and i was able to upload the Map from the standard ECU, first time.
Thought I'd try my luck with evoscan and again got the pump to run first time.... And a second :)

Bit of a thread revival- I was reading on another thread that starting and stopping the logging got the AYC bleeding to work.....
Under the AYC menu I tried the usual "Air Bleeding - ACTIVATE" button to no avail, BUT when I started logging the options disappear, laptop starts logging and I can hear a 1Hz clunk-clunk-clunk from the AYC pump. Open the diff bleed nipples and voila.
Hit stop logging and the pump runs on for a little while and stops.

Under the ACD menu the "Air Bleed ACD" and "Op Check ACD" both allow the ACD to be bled. Likewise the trick of turning the ignition on with the throttle at 100% also gets the job done.

Well pleased as I now don't have to be under the car with all 4 wheels turning to bleed it up!

So essentially- Evoscan V 2.9.0100 DOES allow you to bleed both the ACD and AYC.

Bit of a dumb question maybe, but where in evoscan do you find the ayc bleed option? I've recently starting doing some data logging on my Evo X with a 2.0 cable and the 2.9.0100 software but can seem to find the bleed option listed anywhere.
