Cheers Gary. Just PM’d you.
Despite the shocking accidents on Sunday with all the resultant closures, we had a great weekend and the car stood up very well. Seeing unexpected pictures like this is the best bit…they are trophies of a memorable trip for sure.

As always after every ring trip we want to go back next week but I’m sure that feeling will subside….est. cost of the trip for me was circa £1,600 all in so it ain’t cheap as we all know.

Aside from many memorable moments in my own car (especially finally learning how to take the Wipperman section properly) the highlight of the trip for me was an 8 min 15 sec lap in my mates Exige. That thing can corner the arse off anything this side of a Noble.

I followed you out of the gates on Monday in my mates car (I broke the suspension on my car), he has a 306 gti.

I kept you in sight until Kesselchen, then the lack of power told.

...one things for sure, the Subaru that was behind me (I assumed he was a mate of yours) lost sight of the 306 before Hatzenbach!

HI Dave,
Yeah I remember the 306! Great driving mate :smthumbup
From Quiddelbacher Hohe through to Adenaur Forst is all about carrying corner speed and you had great commitment there.

For me, after the upsetting events of Sunday, I was taking it very easy and wanted home in one piece.

My mate in his scooby was on his 4th lap then, from memory so I'm not surprised you lost him. Knowledge, knowledge knowledge is what that place is about. I am on about lap 40 now and it's taken up to now to learn the Wipperman series of bends and even now I could do them 20% faster if I had 100% commitment.

The bikers we were with were awesome. One of them I let by on the approach to Schwedenkreuz...I was doing about 140mph over the last crest prior to shedding off a good 40mph of speed and he just kept it nailed and tucked in over the turn in and apex.....a great sight from behind to see a biker so committed. Quite a few of our guys showed footage of them getting a wheel up over Quiddelbachger Hohe which, at 120mph is quite committed in the least.....

I just had the impression the Subaru driver would be fast as he had sticky tyres on.

Low powered cars like the 306 are easier to drive as many corners become flat such as QH, Bergwerk to Steilstreker so then its all about the exit from the corner before.

Just need to get my old girl fixed before July.
