:handsup:Hi, I have an evo4, with a full evo7 set up and aftermarket management, running stock waste gate boost (0.6-0.8 bar) I was advised not to turn turn boost up as I have the habit of braking engines ( this being nr5), should I, meth kit, nos, cams, head work, ? Iv got 255pump, hks exhaust, de cat etc. Only making 180kw on all wheels. Motor internals are stock
Please help,

Seeing as this has had 40 views but not one reply, I'll get things rolling. If you're serious about nos and meth, forge your engine. The standard rods and pistons are not up to the challenge. Also I'm no expert but isn't it logical to do cams, turbo etc to get good base performance before you start messing with all that other stuff?

What sort of fuel are you able to run? I'm in Canada so I apologize if it's common knowledge in the UK what specific fuels are available. Due to Canada's vast geographical size it can change dramatically depending on where you go, and for the most part E-85 is scarce nation-wide.

If you're running regular pump gas (say 91 octane or thereabouts), a well installed and reliable meth kit could be an option for increasing boost levels but it's very important that the installation is flawless. At least with the 8 & 9 EVOs I know that it creates hot spots and possibly volatility in cylinder #1 if the cooling benefits aren't evenly distributed.

If it's strictly power you're after:
  • speed density intake
  • tune
  • ported exhaust manifold
  • ported/polished intake mani, ported TB
  • increase size of injectors, fuel rail, lines
  • upgraded cams (and springs if required)
  • larger IC, consider short route piping if available
