This is the 3rd time it's appeared in the last 4 months. I sourced a new MAF sensor and I thought that had fixed it, but apparently not.

I've got the new fuel pump relay, I checked it again yesterday and it seems fine but I ordered a new one just in case.

It only seems to appear under WOT.

Has anyone had any experience with this? It's driving me nuts!

Should have mentioned it's completely stock at the moment. Just a CTEC catback. No blow off or remap
Ok, I would check for leaks from the pipework or similar. If you have already changed the MAF, I would opt for that next. It will be a sod to find seeing as it is so intermittent. Maybe worth getting a smoke test done to help out.

Edit: I seem to remember if a Evo X overboosts, That code gets thrown up ( I could be wrong though) Might be worth getting that checked also.

Yeah maybe for the best. These things can be a pain to diagnose. Let us know how you get on.
I'm probably gonna head over this week sometime but I've done some reading up and like you said because of the CTEC catback it could be overboost. It's happened a couple more times when I floor it so it would make sense. Think it'll need a remap. Would be a shame not to get 3 port and (maybe) a decat at the same time...

God this car is such a bad influence on me!

I'm not so sure if a cat back only would do that. If you had air intake mods too it would be a possibility. I would just take it easy until you get it looked over by a specialist. You don't want to cause damage from it.

I only mention it because this time a second error code came up P1870.

Sounds like a similar issue to this thread that you were discussing in a couple of years ago.

I'll definitely do what you say! I would have gone sooner but I'm in Ireland with it at the moment so will have to wait til I'm back.

There you have it. Hopefully a simple change of a part will sort it without the need of a remap. Strange how it's just started doing it now.
