I have seen in the Workshop Manual the location of the engine ECU in the Evo 5/6.
The picture shows it's location against the side of the car, just behind the glove box.
Can someone please tell me how to access the ECU (in order to remove and replace it)?
Do I have to pull the dash out, or can I somehow remove the glove box compartment and get full access to it from there?
Thanks...

Ive only done this once and the stupid thing is Im not 100% sure of how I did it! I think I opened the glove box and then pressed the two sides of the box inwards at the top. This should allow the box to drop out of the runners and allow access to the ECU. However, I couldnt find a way of freeing the ECU from its location. If you manage it please post how you did it.

You don't even need to take the glove box out.
From under the glove box you can reach the ecu.
There are two 10mm bolts to remove and the electrical connections to disconnect.
Be careful about replacing the black mass wires that are fixed with one of the two bolts.
