Hi guys hi have an evo iv, does anyone know of any specialists in the cambs/south lincs area, I am in peterborough but mitsubishi want to charge me over £550 for a service, the car has done 72k and is a p reg. Just wondered if anyone out there knew of a good garage somewhere fairly local (no more than 45-60max minute drive)

In the booklet the intervals are 4,500 service then the 9,000 intervals ie.

4,500 miles (is the lube service either 4,500 miles or 6 months whichever is soones) 9,000 miles 18,000, 36,000 and so on it depends what the service history is on the car ?? the only main plug is the 45,000 mile service where they change the change the cam belt and spark plug.. platinum tipped i think (im a woman but recall that bit :D )

take it to 'NR Autosport' aka Nick Rountree...based near Lincoln
- you'd be hard pushed to find better for servicing/tuning in your area
...also an MLR member on here....look under 'traders'

The 72k mile service will be the 36,000 mile service which is the second most expensive. (45k being the biggest expense). At this service I think all of the oils get changed, engine, gear and diff so that's where the extra expense comes in.

What the dealers are asking for that service is pretty standard from what I've hears. If you phone up every dealer in your area you'll probably get roughly the same figure give or take 10%. I expect that it's possible to get it down to £400 but that will probably be at a specialist rather than a dealer.

Black Knight on here is a dealer and he will be able to confirm what the dealers price is for the 72k mile service.

As someone has said NR motorsport is near you and has a good rep they'll almost certainly be cheaper than the dealer.

I'm assuming that you aren't bothered about the dealers stamp?

They are on the A57 west of Lincoln, between Newton on Trent and Saxilby.

for some reason...NR don't appear to be listed anywhere
e.g Trader Forum/business directory
however, rest assured, they know their 'stuff' and many on here use him

just call the number or look at their web-site...both listed above

Welly, I to am in peterboghorror and used to go up to Paul Goys in lincoln on a fairly regular basis, it's a good run up the a15 passed Sleaford and I am sure you could amuse yerself in lincoln for a couple of hours or so while they worked on your motor.

There is Harvey Gibbs in p/b but he is more of a cossy specialist. From what I have read on here NR would get my vote.

nothing wrong with nr but they said to me on the phone yesterday that its a massive job to put brembo's on a 4 and it would take a whole day and cost a lot of money but other people who have fitted them have done themselves in 3 hours with no problems so i cant see why nr are telling me different
