I already had issues with a maf sensor and I bottled it and bought proper maf cleaning spray after ready why not to use brake cleaner. £8 tin of proper spray vs £300+ for a maf sensor

You don't clean them.
They don't get dirty.

It's NOT

A MAF

It's a karman vortex volume airflow meter.

A MAF is totally different.

If you try to clean it, you'll **** it.

So what happens when it get coated in oil vapour or general dirt through the air filter? Do I have to buy a new one?

Fit a proper air filter so it won't happen.

Where would the oil come from?

Realistically, whatever is wrong with the car, you've made a mis diagnosis.

The car is standard and I have fitted the proper HKS Panel filter and as above it breathes from the cam cover

oil comes from the cam cover breather.. it is perfectly normal and you can see it on any evo..
The airflow meter only flows air.
Blowby doesn't go through it.

If it does, then you've put it together wrong.
