Hi Guys,
...it's long
I think everyone has been really busy (pm'd you Nick) so the organising of this event has fallen by the wayside, but I've decided to take the plunge and do some major phone calling for venues, and seeing as though our May/June date is too close for us to organise anything, I thought a date later in the summer would be better. Sunday 14th August seems a good time...should be plenty sunny enough (cross fingers)
After phoning a few places, including Prestwold Hall (where the caterers couldn't help me! surprisingly)...Clumber Park seems to be the best bet, with plenty of parking (£4 admission per car), which I'm sure you can all afford. A BBQ area where we can stuff our faces silly! and hopefully a nice sunny day to end the 'road trip' on. Clumber Park is a national trust place as well, so the £4 entrance fee will also be going to a charity)
As for charities, I've had a look at a couple of cancer research charities, and if that's ok with everyone, I'll confirm one of them. (please pm me if you'd rather somewhere else, but I think Cancer probably effects us all in one way or another, so it'd be nice to make a small contribution)
to summarise:
Date - Sunday 14th August 2005
Location - Clumber Park
Charity - Macmillan Cancer Relief
Time - 2pm
If we can start a list of people who'd like to attend. This doesn't have to be solely evo's, so if you have any friends who want to go, they're quite welcome.
Copy and Paste list, adding your own name (and that of any other cars). I'll send out a sponsorship form to the people on the list. Come on guys, this could be a really enjoyable event, and we could make some difference.
We could also do with regional hosts to sub-organise the trips form there area. I'm going to plan to travel down to the essex area, and then back up to Clumber Park. If you would like to be one of these, could you pm me, and we'll try and sort things out from there.
I've also emailed a couple of papers to see if they'd be interested in covering the event.
