February 27, 2021 I won the bid on this 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 7 GT-A from auction, picked up the vehicle on June 13, 2021 with 83,7** kms, and even though it's a automatic it's really fun to drive.

As of December 29, 2022 here are a list of things I had done to this vehicle since my first ownership:

• SpeedTech Racing Development retune 94 Octane August 19 2021
• Rotors/Brake Pads replace Sept 1 2021
• 235/40/18 FireHawk Indy 500 March 20 2022
• Timing Belt w/Water Pump 85,417 kms Oct 15 2022
• A/C Compressor Replacment 85,417 kms Oct 15 2022
• Fan Control Module Oct 22 2022
•TURBOSMART Kompact Plumb 34 MM Oct 29 2022

Here's the 2023 build plans for this vehicle:

• Weapon-R | Oil Catch Can - Lancer Evolution 7 / 8 / 9
• Belt Tensioner & Idler Pulley Replacement
• Evo 7 / 8 Recargo Front Seats
• Monster Sport Air Filter
• Headlight Refinish To Look Like the Evo 8 MR Design
• DEPO JDM Style Black Housing Tail Lights For 2003-2006 Lancer Evolution Evo 8/9
• Rebuild the auto transmission
• GlowShift 30 PSI Boost/Wideband Air/Fuel Ratio Gauges
• CT9A HEL Brake Lines
• Brake Caliper Powder Coat

I know this isn't much of a build but at the same time I wanted to keep it a simple build while keeping the stock look. Build plans are subject to change, depends on the parts that are suited for this vehicle.

2001 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII GSR Front/Rear Seats

Update January 2nd, 2023:
I picked up good condition Evo 7 GSR front and rear seats with rails for a great price, it has normal wear and the one seat "Recaro" logo has a little bit of a color fade but overall good condition, the driver side seat rails have 1.5" lower mounts. I give them a quick cleaning to remove a few minor stains.

Update January 5th 2023: (Part 1#) I took the time since I have the vehicle stored for the winter to refinish the Evo 7 GT-A headlights to look like a Evo 8 MR headlight. I will leave a part 1 and 2 since I have to many pictures to upload.
I'm still waiting on the "Retro Rubber Butyl Glue" to arrived to seal the lens to the headlight light frame but to having the headlight somewhat together makes it so much better and worth the effort.

Here are the links to the video's I used to dissemble the headlight:

Here's a link to the products I bought to prep the headlight housing, lens/turn signal lens and reseal:

I would like to see a video of you giving it some to see what the gear changes are like. There’s a few of these auto 7s for sale in the uk for dirt cheap compared to all the others. I always thought they were either rusty sheds or were just not very fun. What’s your opinion on the gear box so far?

So far with the gear box I haven't had any issues, I done a few pulls nothing crazy but it felt very smooth, it's not like a evo 7 gsr but for what I paid for the vehicle I can live with that, I was told to take care of the transmission and not beat on it due to the wave springs given out, a lot of times people replaces the wave springs or do a manual swap. These Evo's are known for rusting, thankfully my vehicle had little to no surface rust when I had my importer inspected the undercarriage before bidding.

If your looking into rebuilding the W5A51 transmission, here are the part numbers and “F5a51 clutches friction clutch module rebuild repair” which is the same wave springs that is used in the W5A51. I went on "Amayama" to order oem parts and gasket sealant from a local dealership. I was told to get "2 MD757211 OIL SEAL,A/T 2ND BRAKE RETAINER" in case one rips during installation and not bothered ordering "MR486686 GASKET,A/T VALVE BODY". More to follow once I find the time to get the transmission rebuild.

Here's the forum that will help W5A51 Forum and a video on
Youtube

Decided to paint the oil catch can, didn’t like the chrome so I went with flat black, such a huge difference.
I went with 3/8 fuel line hose to replace the see threw hose that came with the kit. I also had to buy bigger hose clamps to fit over the hoses that is fitted on the oil catch can lines in the picture, it was a tight fit but was able to make it work.
