Any sign of a flux capacitor? Also says date of first registration 1978!!
I bought the car on the above link. Didn't pay anywhere near 12k tho. However, you can't get a 5 or 6 rs for less than 10k so if this is in good condition I think it's worth the asking price. Rare car, glad I bought mine, never really drove a standard ish RS it's fun!I've been exchanging emails with the seller too.
The back story I've been given does seem plausible, although I'm struggling to value the car as I can't remember the last time I saw a VI RS2 for sale.
HPI issue aside, is there an Evo specialist in or around Lincoln that might undertake an inspection? I live over 3 hours away so can't just 'hop' up for a view.
The owner does have an VIII FQ-400 too, so I'm a little surprised there's nothing on these boards. Full VIN is extremely useful though, as is the proper date of registration. That matches will the seller saying he's owned it from 2001 onwards.
NB. Potentially, this thread is relevant: http://www.lancerregister.com/showthread.php?t=526169
But, all the OPs comments have been edited out.
Last time I saw I end being sold was for 8-9k, in essence it's rs with air con, even though it's base for extreme it doesn't come with recaro seats an others parts that would justify the priceI've been exchanging emails with the seller too.

Goran I have to disagree with you. Price is/can be justified for many reasons. Condition, rare model, how many on the market etc. The fact that it doesn't have recaros or other parts as you say has nothing to do with it.Last time I saw I end being sold was for 8-9k, in essence it's rs with air con, even though it's base for extreme it doesn't come with recaro seats an others parts that would justify the price
Yea I understand how you see it, but you can't say it doesn't justify the price because of trim surely. It's like saying a GT is worth more over MR RS because of the trim or vice versa.:thumbup:It's just persona opinion, ive always been of an opinion that rs2 should come with some basic upgrades like seats, clocks, door cards, at least something that makes it different as last one Ive seen cones with exactly that, so I'll stick to my guns and still see it as an rs with air con
