Hi all, I've owned subarus for the last 20 years but always fancied an Evo 6!
I have just purchased a silver 6 GSR that has been dry stored and un touched since 2007 with only 19k miles.
Unfortunately the owner has passed away and the family selling the car can't find the keys( it's not stolen my son knows the family) and I have done the relevant checks.
Does anyone know if a mitsubishi dealer would be able to give me the key number so I can then get one cut?
Any help would be appreciated 👍

Thanks for your reply, I have been in contact with international motors and they have said they have no details on record and asked if the car is an import, I was under the impression it was a uk car and HPI doesn't say its imported,so i need to do a bit more research.

Ask a dealer, if you can find one. Mitsi exited UK in October 2001

See News | Mitsubishi Motors UK

You will probably find an Alarm/Immobiliser and "tracker" to sort out
My VI has been registered as a VII with the DVLA and the DVLA want proof from a Mitsi Dealer that it is in-fact a VI and not a VII (even though a small child could tell you this by looking at it). Can I find a dealer to give me this supposed proof? Can I ****. I'm not really sure where this leaves me in terms of tax and insurance etc as it's insured as a VI.

surely you could take a photo of the data plate that shows your chassis number (also the engraved chassis number in the engine bay) will have the prefix CP9A-xxxxxx

So I ended up having to send that plaque to Mitsubishi customer service and they came back with the following (full vin and address redacted):
Font Parallel Number Rectangle Screenshot

Whether or not the DVLA will accept it remains to be seen but I'm going to print it out and send off my V5 and hope for the best

I ended up getting a locksmith to make me a key In the end.
I've since fully serviced it including cam belts, had the wheels refurbished and 4 new tyres fitted, removed the fuel tank to fit a new pump and flush the tank out.
Then took it for an mot .
Still need to get the brake calipers refurbished as they have faded a bit.
.
Here's a few pics before I did any work to it just a quick clean.
