I read your replies on boost guages and stuff. You mentioned something about hackin my ecu in order
to adjust A/F mixtures. What would I need to do this? (evolink?)
As for hacking the ECU, only people who can do this in the
UK (as far as I know) are Power Engineering. They can increase
fuel cut threshold, adjust the fuel map and adjust the ignition map.
Retail is £900|PLS|v for the hacked ECU on an exchange basis I believe.
I am working on a mini group buy if your interested....
Fuel in the US is worse than ours (93-95 ron I believe?), so by
fitting the PE 95ron ECU, raising your boost pressure to 1.3
and perhaps using a little octane booster (toluene will do - cheap)
combined with your exhaust/induction/front pipe; I reckon
you'll notice a BIG increase in performance, whilst running safely
on your carrat juice fuel. Perhaps a genuine 330bhp. Sweat.
Definitely not as good as a mappable ECU like a motec/link/autronic
but a hell of a saving and a lot less mucking around with mapping.
Go kick some arse mate.....an Evo5 in the USA must be rarer than
a diablo in the UK.......mmmm....diablo.....must have one......
I would prefer to sell the pair at £60 inc postage to USA, which is about $85-90.
This is half price of pattern (NOT real PIAA) units in UK.PIAA units cost £300
