Hi all,

Need some help. There are many threads similar to this but none seem to get to the point.

Not long had my evo 4 & today set up apexi boost controller with a mate who knows how. Set low boost (at 1 bar) without any problems. When we tried to set up the high boost, at around 1.2 bar a fuel cut or miss or something could be felt. If. You kept the power down it would continue fine after the miss then miss again after a while at higher revs.

What could this be?

I put new plugs and magnocore leads on the car. Could it be to do with this?

Look forward to any responses, many thanks.

From some stuff I ve read fuel cut should be around 1.7 on evo 4.

Not sure if it is fuel cutting or something else as it isn't really that stronger cut, I don't really know the car well enough to be sure what it is.

Open to any ideas..

Fuel cut on the 4's tends to vary. Mitsi let some go with the cut level high (around the 1.7bar level will usual mods). Others have the lower cut level of the 5/6's with anything from 1.1-1.3 bar causing cuts.

However, from what you're describing and the fact that it doesn't put you through the windscreen would suggest it's more likely to be spark plug gaps that Ant has mentioned

Problem solved! Put standard leads back on and no problems whatsoever.

Found on another forum that magnorcore leads can cause problems on evo's due to there different resistance with thicker cables I guess. Will just replace with some new standard ones and save some money!

Thank you for all your suggestions. I am glad it was a simple fix.

Cheers
