Thanks for that,I was getting a bit worried there! Should I flush the engine before changing to a different grade of oil or will it not matter that there is 2 different oils mixing together? Thanks in advance.Chris

oil

whats wrong with 10w-50 this is actually what 'oilman' recommends ie silkolene pro S..!?

The book recommendation is 10w-40 or 10w-50.

With the trackdays I would suggest a 10w-50 may be a better choice if temps are high.

Look at Silkolene PRO S 10w-50 or
Motul 300V 10w-40 Chrono
Tech data here: http://www.opieoils.co.uk/lubricants.htm

Oh and dont flush it unless you do it with normal oil, ie NOT flushing oil..!!

Dan
nothing wrong with it....book recommendation etc
as you say...good for high temps.... e.g. trackdays

I also suggested 5w-40 as that's recommended for e5 onwards
as I was assuming that the car was going to be used only 'on the road' .......
