Don't like being a newbie but we all have to start somewhere :)

I currently have a STI4 RA V-ltd which is really a weekend toy modded to 350 bhp and I was looking for a second older Scoob for a daily driver. Although I often frequent this forum just reading up really on the later EVO's as I have always fancied one I have never really taken any notice of the early cars.

Problem is I know s*d all about the 1 & 2's. I think they are around 250bhp standard so assume 0-60 in the 5's and 1/4 around 15. Could someone fill me in on the basics and what I should be looking for in terms of common problems when I view.

I would also be intersted in the simple mods, what boost do they run standard ? what's a safe limit to turn then up to with a boost controller etc.

Lot's of questions I know but if someone could take a min to reply I would appreciate it.

Thanks

First off, read the Evo 1-3 buyers' guide, that should answer many of your questions regarding specs and reliability :)

As you'll read, standard boost is 0.7-0.8 bar, and with a I or II you could see that at 1.0 bar no problem, maybe a bit more if you get the fuelling checked.

Standing qtr in 15s? Only if you're drving your mother in law home! High 13s more like.
