I DL'd that unlocker a while back. Very handy indeed. I suggest if any of you dont have it, you should get it quickly. You never know when it may be 'removed'. I hear ECUTEK is very unhappy about it. :moon:SilverBack said:You just have to love the Tactrix cable & ECUFlash!
There is even free faultcode software and another (free) logger available here http://www.aktivematrix.com/forum/
If you look hard you can even overcome the 'lock' some vendors put on ROMs after they flash them![]()
It's not a worry. If the unlocker gets removed there is another method of unlocking the ROMsBonestock said:I DL'd that unlocker a while back. Very handy indeed. I'd love to offer, but am not in a position to do so ( no I'm not in jail). I felt the same as you when I first started, my advice would be to read the ROM from your car, then spend some time getting use to the maps and how the software works. Then change say, one cell in the boost limit table, up it by ten and flash it back into your car.evo8260gtr said:iv been doing a lot of research on this recently too, got the cable and software just not 100% confident doing it myself, would be great to meet up with people who have done it themselves would be great to learn more
maybe we should organise something if people are up for it?
I can appreciate why people might not want to start changing stuff initially but I am surprised - considering the low costs - that more don't get the cable and just data log their cars or use the virtual gauges. Even just to check what their commercial tuner has done. You can even log the boost via the MAP sensor on the IX.burgers22 said:Hi
I see the whole thread is ocupied by the converted so far. I have had a couple of contacts from people who have clicked my sig and were interested, but I am supprised there arn't more who've picked up on this and the other tool availiable.
Great community support, guys who do stuff for free, like those at Aktive Matrix, are top. Can't wait to see Mitsilogger 1.5.

Jestr also has a 6 month subscription service for $200 which alows you unlimited flashes, I think thats pretty good value.evo8260gtr said:another thing iv just discovered is this:

this would certainly give me more confidence to start with a map from them which i can in time once i learn more edit myself, i think thats probably the safest method for starting out once my wideband arrives.
The number to which you refer is a calculated engine load figure in the boost cut table. Increasing the number in each rpm zone basically moves the fuel cut up. The engine load is calculated from other parameters but very roughly, 100 would be about atmospheric pressure, 200 would be about 1bar, 300 about 2 bar.evo8260gtr said:so am i right in assuming in the boost table 200 equals 1 bar boost so 260 would be around 1.6 bar boost? if so it seems fairly simple bring the boost in at staged levels on each cell.
