Ebay FRAUD - Everyone read this!!!

54772 Views 136 Replies 59 Participants Last post by  whenyouknow
I thought I was taking all the precautions, but still got buggered - Royally, by a ****** on Ebay. I'm posting this thread to see if anyone else has had the same experience:

Just over 8weeks ago, I won an Apexi Power FC + controller, for the sum of £491, which I thought was a good price. People were buying stuff off this person left, right and centre, and he had no neg feedback, so thought I would be pretty safe. He subsequently phoned me twice to say the parts were on their way, but surprise surprise, still no Power FC at my door. I am gutted beyond belief, but want to try and help other from being frauded by the same A55hole. His user ID at the time was 'officially pimped', later changed to 'op_performance', and now, I believe he's back using another Pseudonym. He's based in the Warrington area.

Everyone beware, and if he's reading this, then: You better move house quickly, cos I will find you!!!

Not sure if anyone knows this, but ebay accounts complete with lots of positive feedback can actually be purchased!!! So people with a bad trading record on ebay can re-new themselves and look perfectly credible. http://www.ukbusinessforums.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?p=825458

Its getting harder to believe anything about who you buy online from these days.
Look at the date that was originally posted (07-06-2005, 16:59). Please read the whole thread.
Ok ok ok  I know but dude! I did read the whole thread but don't usually pay much attention to the date of post. And obviously mate, neither do you. ;) If you did, you would have noticed that it wasn't I who reopened this thread and you would have been able to quote the correct person in your post.:crackup:
If anyone wishes to pursue claims (either civil or criminal) against Mr Barry Hayward, then he is presently easy to find. He is in custody awaiting sentencing for fraud offences, he has pleaded guilty to 7 offences to date). He is due to be sentenced on Tuesday 1st November. He is also under investigation by Derbyshire Police for more recent offences, and they would be interested to know of any other offences of fraud or attempts to defraud that might involve Mr Barry Hayward. For the last 4 years Mr Hayward has operated under the alias of Mr Jamie De Souza, and is known to have been living and operating in places such as Heanor, Ilkeston, Solihull, Birmingham, Portsmouth, York, to name but a few.
I would be interested to hear from Guy, who was ripped off when providing him with laptops, I believe this might have been when he was looking to set up a parcel business called GoparcelGo. But if anyone would like to come forward now, then PM me and I can give you details of both Mr Barry Hayward and also the police forces interested.

Hey "dude" You think that makes any difference?
Hey "dude" You think that makes any difference?
Um...."dude", yeah I think it does. Reopening a post from almost 5yrs ago? With the power of the internet, anyone can be anyone else of their choosing. I see your point though that, basically, once a conman, always a conman.:smthumbup

Therefore, if this kind of thing is to go on, rather than reopen such an old thread, gather the evidence and then repost. Saves people from going through so many pages. :D
This IS evidence!! and its all of 8 pages. Reopening this post has resulted in two people coming forward now (5 years later) and being in a position to take criminal action against Hayward.
I'm still trying to track down the guy who lost a lot of stock and money with the laptop fraud, but it all takes time.

Point made and taken mate.
Just to let you all know, This guy is on the loose in the Derbyshire area at the moment. Two days ago he ripped off a mate of mine for 2k. He now has a girlfriend in tow, and is posing as a Diamond merchant from Manchester. He also uses the name Carlos de Souza.
Hi there,

Barry purchased 30 laptops off us amongst a lot of other items and currently has an outstanding balance of £144,000.00.

Unsurprisingly we want this back and will be happy to give a cash reward to anyone who can help us trace this gentleman once and for all.

We are currently in daily dialogue with associates of him but are running out of patience, very swiftly.

Money is promised tomorrow but if it doesn't arrive we will persue other angles, thanks to everyone who posted address details etc.

Guy
Please email me at [email protected]. I have info on this mans wherabouts and have tracked him down.
