im new to the evo scene,, wat boosts safe to run on my evo 4??been told its got evo 8 turbo n injectors,, its defo bigger than my mates e4 standard turbo,, runnin evo 6 ecu aswell,, again this is only wat i was told from the guy i brought it off so im just taking his word on that,, any help info appreciated

1.2 bar holding max got nowt to do with ecu ,injectors or turbo with the e4 engine they have weak ringlands on the pistons this is wot can fail you might get away with more but i wouldnt chance it just my 2p worth thou:)

i had mine mapped yesterday stayed with 1.2 bar ,just to be safe .tha lad i used wouldnt recommend going any higher as there where more negatives than plusses

Asked the same question myself before. Its all to do with the internals of the engine and what stresses they can handle. Not what mods you add on. 1.3bar max is safe until you uprate the rods, rings, etc

Run 1.3 bar and get a bit extra timing in the results will be very similar to running 1.5 bar
as above really, if you want to push anymore then 1.2 bar, then get the ecu remapped, just wacking up the boost to past 1.2 on a standard 6 ecu is going to give fuel cuts

Also make sure you have a walbro pump fitted?
