Hey guys!

I just installed my TANABE cat-back exhaust and WOW! http://194.93.140.171/graphics/happy1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle > Anyways, I'm looking at fitting a downpipe. Question is, between the downpipe and the cat-back exhaust is where the cat converter is right? So I can fit a different brand of downpipe and it will fit with my cat-pipe section without having anything to do with the cat-back exhaust right?

I originally thought so at first, but got confused when the mechanic from the shop I got the exhaust said the downpipe has to be the same brand as my cat-back exhaust. (By the way, this shop, where I also got my exhaust isn't my tuning regular shop).

Was the guy who told me that full of ******** or is he right?

Any downpipe intended 2 fit the standard factory turbo and exhaust system will fit any exhaust system intended 2 directly replace the factory exhaust system

The guy is full of shít as Evoboy pointed out. Maybe ignorant or maybe trying to sell you what he's got. Dont forget to get the turbo elbow as well! You could get both these parts (turbo elbow and downpipe) by buying an HKS GT extension kit. I think there is even a special offer on it somewhere now, check to For Sale section. I have this GT EK and it is superb quality.
