Looking to crack 400/400

You reckon I may want to invest in a set of cams? MR maybe?

Anything you'd change? Not driven by the numbers, but more the way the car drives. Want it to be punchy with strength through the gears.

It's a street car, not going on tracks etc

Evo 6 TME by the way

Cheers Billy

I fitted MR cams into my E7. Made a good difference. Could feel the extra punch on boost
They are a good upgrade for not alot of money. they seem to sell between 100-150

You'll be wanting more like 1.8 bar for 400.

I Run a similar spec but with skunk2 cams and 1.9 bar, but on a forged engine. Its a great setup but the part throttle boost surge on the 80series is bloody annoying!

Rod job is fine. Anything more on a road car is just wasting your money.
No need for pistons then? Sweet :)

What can I do to the 80 series to avoid that? Billet wheel?

Some people have managed to get round it using an OEM dump valve, others by going SD and there are some anti surge compressor housings available. Have a search on here its been covered a lot. I haven't got round to sorting mine out yet

Ok mate, thanks. I'll have a dig.

Thinking of SD conversion anyway so maybe that'll cure the surge.

Cheers
