Are there two separate temperature issues with SST gearbox?

1. Run an SST at a trackday and the light soon comes on to indicate overtemp.

2. From cold, the oil takes a long time to warm up properly and the software compensates by allowing clutch slip to generate heat?

Does the Dodson SST sump kit help with both? Is it the extra capacity and aluminium construction that aids cooling, whilst the addition of a heated area at the bottom of the sump provides warming? And is the heating provided by a water or oil feed?

It does both :) When the car is cold the coolant heats quicker than the SST oil so the coolant aids the heating.

When the car is upto temp and on track the SST oil can go past 120c so the slightly cooler sump aids cooling :)
