The car in the link was owned by myself and to be honest was clean and reliable unfortunatley i paid £8750 six months ago for it and was unaware it was a cat C vehicle i also paid out for a cam belt service last year.
The spec listed is total rubbish made up buy the cowboys who bought it from me for 5 thousand, i priced it as saw fit to move it on.. unfortunatly i never got £5000 as the extra money £200 by bank transfer never turned up and also the cash they left was a £80 light as with my back turned they distracted my lady and helped themselves. Sounds out right for that lot.
......Set of cowboys! They need setting on fire along with joey barton:goingmad::lol:
Might be an idea to inform Pistonheads?
You just beat me to it mate. Definitely send PH an email advising them of the situation :smthumbup
Did you not HPI it before you got it?

Sorry to hear about your bad luck.

They sound like a right bunch of *****.

I can't stand scammers! Unfortunately the motor trade has one too many of em'.:shake::thumbdown:thumbdown
I feel sorry for you, but you did buy an evo without HPI'ing it. And you dont seem to be able to grasp the concept of cleared funds, or counting and security.

And thats shocking by 'what whoever brought its company is called this week.'
I didn't hpi lesson learnt too keen to buy the car due to low miles and how clean it was... too trusting thats me :) going to ring up PH tomorrow when there open wouldn't be doing so if the traders who bought it did the right thing by me and others they are trying to rip off now. I was decent to them when the arrived to buy the car offered them a cuppa ,let them use the toilet and even £50 notes for their fuel and then they steal off me in my own home thats just out of order...
Jami,

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.

Thank you for your courageous post.

Nick
Jami, If it was me i would be booking a viewing for the car again and getting my money back they scammed from you :) and a little extra for my troubles!
Easy with hindsight but if you ask about accident damage and they lie then you can take them to court. I always ask regardless of condition. May not always get the truth of course. Always screen dump the adverts too. We all get caught out once and learn from it. Once is a tough pill to swallow on such a high value car tho. Thanks for exposing them mate.
Go down, view it, rip the steering wheel off or the spoiler and say that makes it quits :smthumbup
The dodgy cowboys!!!! How can people like them get away with trading, sounds like they use every under hand trick in the book. Plus no where on their advert does it say its a CAT C accident damaged car. Hope no one off here gets stung by them, you think that you can trust a trader as well - deffo not these ones.

Well done for posting this warning up. Hope they get thier come uppence some time soon!

Definitely do this, just for the amusement factor.

Or buy it from them and give them £4k and promise to wire the rest. :mhihi:

If you bought it private then that's your hard luck, but if Max Performance are selling it without making clear it's a cat c write off then that's an offense. I mean you *could* inform pistonheads  but you're probably better off informing Trading Standards as they actually have the power to deal with these things and it is their responsibility to do so.

The spec list on that ad is from a different car i've seen for sale recently and u can see its not correct for the car from the pics.....

I was under the impression that they didn't have to say in the advert if its Cat c/d but if u ask them and they tell u its a straight car when its not then its against the law, some sort of fraud.....
They've been know to sell Cat c/d cars before.

They should tell you without you having to ask. They don't have to say in the advert I guess, but if you went to view/buy they'd have to tell you at some point. An ethical trader will state ASAP up front it was a write off to save wasting everyone's time.
The point in me posting this up was to stop anybody losing their hard earned moneylike i did and others profiting dishonestly.
Hopefully job done. :smthumbup
