Sorry to re-open this thread......Do the diff bolts only require to be fitted if a rebuild to the diffs have taken place or is it a regular problem please....?????

I`m looking for a evo6 and wondered other than the gearbox output bearings..Wether i should know about any other weakness ....?????Kev.

You only need to replace them when and if they break, though if you have the gearbox in bits you might as well have the transfer box stripped and fit the uprated ones while your at it.


Other weakness on the Evo gearbox is the 5 fifth gear syncro - only way to check it is to accelerate hard through forth and change into fifth gear quickly at circa 7,000rpm.
