Sorry for the stupid question but is a catback just another word for decat (as in get your cat back)?

The reason I'm asking is because I've saw a lot of exhausts for sale saying catback and I'm just curious to know if that means some sort of sports cat backend or just means decat.

Its means the section of exhaust from the 'cat back' and does not include the cat itself.

Downpipe, cat (decat) then cat back exhaust

cat back is exactly that, from the cat back, meaning everything AFTER (not including) the cat

Please anyone can tell me if I need to buy a de-cat pipe, or the Hks extension kit+hks hi power muffler, knowing that i won´t use the cat?
