OK, I'm thinking of chopping in the Cayenne Turbo for another family wagon for dragging the kiddies about at weekends and using for work on rainy days when I dont use the 996TT.

At the moment I'm thinking 'sensible', something like a nicely specced up new BMW 535d Sport Touring - its got the right kit, goes well and is MUCH more economical than the Cayenne Turbo.

However, then I started hearing about the M5 Touring which is just around the corner and doesnt have the same waiting lists as the M5 saloon

Anyone else got any great suggestions on other options ??

Pretty limited options there Steve - I'd say the Beemer was the best bet. Only other options would be the Range Rover Sport (but you don't like them anymore do you?!) or the RS6 (but not good on the fuel econ) or the Touraeg W12 (again fuel economy is dire).

BMW - Good size, good performance , good spec and good residuals = job done.
