Hi all,

Just wondering if you can get official performance pack upgrades from Mitsubishi that are warranty friendly? I mean something similar to Subaru who have the Prodrive Performance Pack upgrade.

I have a 260 still in warranty so would be interested if you can and costs?

Cheers,
Paul

Have you bought the car from a Mitsubishi garage??
If so, if they fit the Full HKS filter & exhaust system to your 260, you might be able to keep the warranty in-tacked, this should free up a few more BHP!
Alternatively, your much better taking it to a reputable tuner to unleash its true potential, you should easy see 350 BHP
Either way top motor! Enjoy it!

when i took my car 260 to mitsi at the start, they wouldn't even order a hks super dragger exhaust because they do not fit onto the cat, or down pipe,

I see, could be expensive then replacing the down pipe too..... looks like the tuner option much better value!!

Wait until the warranty expires (unless you're feeling lucky) and contact someone like WRC Tech, Norris Designs, Evo400 - they can all offer you packages of varying power & money. There are definitely some 260 owners on here running circa 350bhp, although I'm guessing it cost them a couple of grand to get it.

I am running more near the 400 bhp, but at a cost, not cheap,

After doing some searches on here I see if I at least get the ECU reprogrammed it's untraceable and offers some bhp gains correct? By how much do you reckon?

A remap will produce around the 300bhp mark with increases across the rev range + better fuel consumption.

Nice. So about 40 more horses for only £600.

I paid £1600 to get the PPP fitted on my Subaru for the same gains!

I'm liking this Evo business.... :)

Forget the 40 horses for £600. Go all out and get the 400 horses ;) You may need around 3-4k though :( .

i checked with my local mitsi garage and they said that there are currently no mods they can add as the car is under warranty still.

Also mitsi do not do power upgrades for the 260 so if you want to unleash the potential then take it to a specialist but be warned it will viod the warranty...

So your options are:
1) upgrade to an FQ
2) wait for you warranty to expire
3) upgrade it anyways and sod the warranty :D

AAAAAAHHHHAHAHAAAAAA - Time for some more 260 myth busting !!!!

Although not exactly the same as PPP (as far as warrenty goes) there IS a factory mitsubishi power upgrade for the 260.

Ralliart part number RA156169S1 is an ECU and downpipe specificly for the 260.

I have this kit fitted along with a Ralliart catback exhaust and Ralliart panel filter. The kit it completely reversible (ECUTEK is NOT 100% reversible) and so if any warrenty work is required it takes around an hour to put the car back to 100% box standard (very easy to fit/unfit all the bits yourself). My cars been on the rollers and does 335 BHP WITH THE MAIN CAT STILL IN PLACE !!!

Hi Paul

Ive had is fitted a while now. The downpipe/ECU pack, I got from co-ordsport - if I recall it was around £950. Also - ***ANY*** CATBACK system that fits Evo 7,8 or 9 will also fit the 260 - ONLY the downpipe to main CAT flange angle are different. I opted for a full Ralliart catback system, cuz im real fussy and like OEM stuff.

The BIG advantages of this kit are :- The ECU is a replacement unit. So you remove and save the original - no 'flashing' etc. Nothing wrong with ECUTEK (flashing) but it is NOT 100% reversible and IS detectable. Flash memory has a counter to show how many times its been written too. So if anyone wanted to know if your original ECU had been fooled with - they could find out by reading the flash memory counter.

As you well know - the 260 has the second lamda sensor that tests the first CAT. This replacment ECU REMOVES the CAT check and so allows use of the new decatted downpipe (part of the kit) to be used without giving you the CEL you would get if you fitted a new downpipe to the 260 on the original ECU.

So to sum up - this kit IS expensive BUT is totally reversible and so warrenty isnt a problem + you will get some of your money back when you sell the car as you can just put all your original bits back on and sell the kit.
