Can an EVO 6 PnP Autronic unit work in a Right-Hand drive, JDM spec EVO 7??

I know plugs are the same..but some wiring different.

No, harness and colour codes are all different.

Well, I swapped a Motec M48 from a VI to my VII without any major problems. The cooling fan operation has to be inverted otherwise the fans will run when the engine is cool and stop when it gets warm enough (if it ever could). There are some other minor stuff but no big deal and definitely doable. I have an adapter harness though so on a PnP it might not be that easy.

i just bought an autronic PNP smc for my makinen, they sent me both boards (6 and 7) because there was a swap over time. Mine was one of the latest makinens delivered. the 7 board failed to operate certain critical functions like air con and fan.

so i would suggest the 6 would be in a worse position and definately require the 6 board, while the 7 definately requires the 7 board.

still researching if it'll work...awaiting reply from Autronic.

I did put a EVO 7 spec ecu in my car once & it ran fine just that fans came on and ran constantly.

Thanks again for all the input.

Ray Hall of Autronic, Aus., says that my ECU will work in an EVO 7 with minor modification and a jumper and pot resistor...so that's great!!
