Folks

I'm thinking of having my calipers refurbished just to brighten them up. What kind of service should I be searching for, are they powder coated, or just painted or what?? Should I search for a specialist place or just a standard bodyshop? I've literally no idea what kind of place or what needs to be done.

Also, any ideas on approx cost for front pair of calipers to get done, even a ball park figure?

thanks, Daryl

Depends on what you use the car for (everyday or shows) and how fussy you are.

On our everyday Evo's we relaquer the brembo's ourselves. But more recently we sent a complete set of brembo's off to our spray man to have them refurbished with new decals and two coats of lacquer over the top :smthumbup

Costs will vary depending on who does them. Your probably looking at a couple hundred pounds now to have them freshly painted and relaquered. If you'd like to know who did ours pm me :smthumbup

Not fussy, and every day use, just looking a bit tired after being in storage for a few years.

I'd be looking for a place where I could leave my car with them for them to remove calipers, repaint them, and put them back on. I have no desire to mess around with brakes in any way.

In that case then it would be helpful to know your rough location ;)... You may get a few recommendations then ...

If you want to leave your car with someone for them to remove/refurb your brakes this will bump the price up.
The price I mentioned was with our supplying the brakes already removed from the car :smthumbup

Yeah, location would be good. Based in Ayrshire but happy enough to go anywhere around Scotland's central belt. Should also mention it's an Evo X FQ-330 just in case that makes any difference.
