Got to remove the front bumper to fit some Samco IC hosing.

Done a search and seen a diagram of the removal. Looks fairly straight forward but know how these how to's can lie. Uusally when ur 1/2 way through the job and need a special tool to undo sumthing :(

Any things to be wary of and is this a 1 man job from start to finish. Any special tools needed or are all the bolts hex's?

cheers

From memory, no i didnt need any special tools.

However, be prepared, it does take a while! I think the term 'over-engineered' with regard to the number of bolts holding it on is somewhat applicable :D

Easier to drop the engine out and get to the IC that way :(

Diagram does'nt look too bad for bolts. Have heard of people undoing more bolts than they actually need to? Will keep undoing them until either the bumber falls off or sumthing else does

Hello Reims
I removed front and rear bumpers from my evo 4 to get them repaired and resprayed, but soon realised i'd removed unnesasary screws so wasting time, then found there was cosiderable rust that needed attention, next I decided to fit stainless steel mesh which I had to obtain in sheet and cut etc, then the intercooler and bits looked untidy so the were resprayed, also some screws and push clips were not re-useable, which even Coed did not have in stock.
Next time (if), maybe quarter of the time. my 4 needed tidying though and now looks much better.
Hope this helps

dead easy mate(assuming the same fittings as a 5)
remove indicators and remove black plastic fasteners
jack car up and remove two bolts on both chassis legs(should be obvious)
there are two plastic screws on either side of the car where the wheel arch liner(splash guard) meets
the front bumper(brake cooling ducts)remove these
finally there are 2 (1 either side) bolts where the front bumper attaches to the front wing
it is easy to say once you have done it but it shouldny take longer than about 20 mins to remove it
hope this helps
cheers
