Anyone had any success in removing these I've 3 broken ones at the top an have tried the snap on extractor set and had no joy:wallbang:

Drill out and clean the threads up. That's you only hope.

Worst case £30 for replacement mani and a couple of hrs labour to swap over :smthumbup

I've started to drill them out but I've broken one of the extractors in one hole an it's nearly impossible to drill, I would take the manifold off but I don't want to risk breaking anymore studs :cry:

HSS or cobalt drills are fine ,carbide are to brittle for drilling by hand!make sure you centre the stud first a dremel type tool with a small cutter is ideal.Go slow on your spindle speed 'this is where alot go wrong running the drill to fast,it takes the edge of the drill straight away,and use some lubricant
